Rumors are that both Manhattan and the Brooklyn VAMC’s are slated for closure in 2025 leaving only the Bronx VAMC for medical healthcare. There is a health coverage option for every single Veteran living in New York City. The Mayor's Public Engagement Unit (PEU) and the Department of Veterans' Services (DVS) are partnering to connect New York City Veterans with health coverage and to ensure that no Veterans are left behind. With VA health care, you’re covered for regular checkups with your primary care provider and appointments with specialists (like cardiologists, gynecologists, and mental health providers).
